We were made to worship

CS Lewis said, “The drive to worship is not unlike the drive to eat, if it goes unmet there is great pain.”  If you go for extended tomes without food, you shrink…in my case that wouldn’t be bad, but if you continue to shrink it will lead to eventual disaster.

We were created to worship…in fact all of creation was made to worship.  The Bible speaks of mountains and hills singing and trees clapping!  The Psalmist said the heavens declare the glory of God.  We were made to worship.

The writer of Hebrews calls upon us to “continually offer up sacrifices of praise.”  Jesus told the Samaritan woman, “the Father is seeking such people to worship Him,” and He was talking about those who worship in spirit and in truth.

God invites us to worship, God calls us to worship, He wants us to enter His presence and sing, shout, pray, and even dance!  Let’s not let the trees of the field out dance us!!

My prayer is that we will learn to worship the Father and long for His presence.  The great necessity is that we pray and ask God to help us long for it.  I ask Him to salt me with His presence so that I thirst for Him and so that only He will satisfy me.
