Divine Nature

Paul blows me away with the things He asks God to do…he prays the following things for his readers,

that they would be filled with the fullness of Him who fills all in all,
that they would be filled with the fullness of God,
that God would fill them with the knowledge of His will,
and that they would be filled with the fruit of righteousness.

Peter joins Paul in this line of thinking…in 2 Peter he says when God’s divine power is working in us, we “become partakers of the divine nature…”

Think about your prayer life…what are you asking God to do?  William Carey once said, “Expect great things, attempt great things.”  I find Paul has impacted my prayer life…I spend a great deal of time every morning asking for Him to fill me and to fill those in my family and church.

I want to be filled with His fullness, I want to be filled with the knowledge of His will, filled with the fruit of His righteousness, and now I ask God to help me walk in His divine power so that I will live for His glory and be godly…to help me live in the new nature, the divine nature, I received when I was born again.
