Seeking Beauty

We are not a patient people, or should I say, I am not a patient person.  I was in line at a fast-food restaurant the other day and it took longer than I thought it should!  I found myself aggravated and tempted to back up and speed out of the line to make a point, but at the last second, I prayed for God to help me learn patience and I thanked Him for the opportunity.

I saw a picture of a kingfisher diving into the water…the photographer, Alan McFadyen, took six years, 4,200 hours, and 720,000 photos to capture the perfect shot. (James Lucas). Was that wasted time?  No, a thousand times no.  It was a man perfecting his craft and making beauty visible for the rest of us trying to speed through the fast-food lines!

Every moment is a moment to pray…we might be thanking Him, asking for His help, or simply talking to Him as we listen to what He has to say.  Every moment is a moment to be holy…singing a song in church or taking a picture for the 720,000th time.
