How to pray without ceasing

Paul tells us to pray without ceasing.  I've spent a lot of time over the years feeling inadequate and even guilty over that command, but if we think about the times Jesus went away to pray, if we consider the amount of time He devoted to being alone and in the presence of His Father, then we need to consider this statement: Our lives are the byproduct of our lifestyles.

We simply will never be like Jesus if we don’t learn to live like Jesus through His Spirit.  Every morning, we must set God before our minds, we must “direct and redirect our minds constantly to Him.” (Dallas Willard)

One of the things I try to do, as I drive, as I walk through a store, or even sit and people watch, is to pray for people as they walk by.  Maybe you pass a church every day…pray for their pastor, pray for them to grow, and pray for God to move.

As you go about your day constantly keep in touch with your Father.  Try it today…keep Him before your mind and in your thoughts and turn those thoughts into prayer.
